Now is a time for Christmas holiday! It will be a long holiday for family to have a great time together. Some families can afford holiday trip to tourism spots. But some of them could only stay at home. These parents shall have lots of ideas to spend time with their children. I will give you some holiday activities ideas to help you spend time and make family relationship closer:
1. Family cooking time, the purpose is to teach child to cook and to respect the food.
- Parents and children decide what will they cook (ex: cake or cookies or barbeque steak, etc)
- Making shopping list
- Shopping together to buy ingredients
- Preparing the ingredients ( ex: measuring flour, sugar, milk etc )
- Cooking together
- Eating together
Each family member will have their own responsibility. Ex: Mom makes shopping list, Dad and child shopping, Child measuring the ingredients, etc
2. Family cleaning time, the purpose is to teach child to clean and to be care to other people.
a. Parents discuss with children:
- What kind of used things they can clean?
- What will they do with the used things?
- Where will they give the used things?
- etc
b. Sorting things that do not used anymore
c. Give it to another people who need it (ex: an orphan children)
3. Family movies time, the purpose is to teach child to respect other people choices and to preparing things.
a. Parents discuss with children what kind of movie they want to watch
b. Preparing the cinema together, make some space for chairs and table
c. Preparing food and drink
d. Watching the cinema together
4. Family treasure hunt time
a. Parents discuss with children:
- What is treasure hunt?
- How to play?
- What kind of treasure to find?
- Who will be in the groups?
b. Dividing in to 2 groups
c. Each groups will make 10 instructions to find the treasure
d. Time will be counting
e. The treasure should be something useful for partying after the game
f. The winner is the fastest group
