The South is getting some serious love from Sprint on July 15. Is your city next?
We probably don't need to sell you on?4G data coverage. After all, being able to grab data on your mobile device at blazing speed is the type of thing that sells itself. And for those of you in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, and San Antonio who are aching to join the?4G Sprint LTE network, the wait is just about over.
Sprint will be rolling out its 4G LTE network to the five Southern cities on July 15 as part of its ambitious plan to put 250 million Americans under the blanket of high-speed data coverage by the end of 2013. There's a lot of catching up to do: While Sprint is focusing on major cities, competitor Verizon is already able to?focus their efforts on smaller metro areas such as Pensacola, Florida; Montgomery, Alabama; and College Station, Texas.
To use the new Sprint network, you'll need a phone capable of accessing it. For now, your choice is limited to just one phone:?The HTC Evo 4G LTE. It'll set you back $199 with a two-year contract.
