Herman Cain Sexual Harassment Plan -- Make Republicans Look Sexist (ContributorNetwork)

COMMENTARY | As a former political consultant, I find I can pick up on ploys in the media faster than most people. The leftist side of the media has set a new trap for Herman Cain and his Republican supporters. The sexual harassment claims that have hit the Cain camp are just the first step in an obvious ploy to not only discredit the candidate, but the entire political party as well.

Note the claims have been discovered from "undisclosed sources." Remember we have placed enough trust in the media that writers can often get away without providing sources for important stories such as this. Anybody can make claims about anyone. Our trust in the media allows for untrustworthy people to be shrouded in anonymity so that they do not have to defend their claims.

The leftist side of the media has been trying to stick the Republicans with a stigma of being a racist political party. While some people do believe this hasty generalization is true, most people do not. Add on the fact one of the front-runners for the Republican nod for the 2012 election is black, and the media had to figure out a new trick to use to keep President Barack Obama in office.

I would expect article titles like "Cain Gets Defensive Over Harassment Charges" to be seen around the Internet and in print. The title gives a negative connotation due to the idea people that immediately go on the defense must be guilty. Expect that the left-leaning side of the media will not give the candidate the opportunity to defend himself. This easily allows for the perception that he is sexist.

Let's see if we can follow the logic using the "racism plan" as a guide before the plan fully gets off the ground. Of course, anyone who supports a sexist person must be sexist themselves. If Cain continues his trek to the top, it must mean the entire GOP is a group of sexists.

That must be another reason why Republicans don't like Hillary Clinton. It must also be the reason why Michelle Bachman fell in the polls. It is those sexist Republicans who are holding them back. Hopefully, the logic of the American people can foil this hasty generalization before it goes too far.
